How I work

I believe that professional counselling offers the opportunity to explore the root-causes of your pain and enables you to address the issues that are preventing you from leading a fulfilled life.

At the heart of our work is our counselling relationship allowing you to talk freely about things that are troubling you. Together we can explore the cause of these. Reflecting on early experiences and significant events in your life such as trauma, bereavement or loss helps you understand the root of thinking or behavioural patterns. The exploration and understanding of unhelpful thinking patterns will enable you to gradually make changes and to live a truer and more fulfilled life.

My clients come from all walks of life and I have experience in working with:

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Low self esteem
  • Relationship issues
  • Bereavement and loss
  • Divorce
  • Anger
  • Sexuality
  • Childhood abuse
  • Stress
  • Trauma

If you think counselling might help you just call me for an informal conversation on the phone and perhaps arrange a first meeting or simply send an email.

The first meeting will be an opportunity for you to talk freely about what is troubling you. If we feel that counselling can help you we will agree a time and day for weekly counselling sessions.

The counselling sessions will take place at the same time every week and each session will last 50 minutes.

I offer short-term counselling over a set number of sessions, for example 12 sessions and long term counselling.
